One Air has begun its first scheduled freighter flights, with a Boeing 747-400F landing at East Midlands Airport from Hong Kong on September 4, carrying 109,484 kilos across 39 pallets. The milestone marks a new phase in the carrier's expansion, reported London's Air Cargo Week.

The new service will operate four times weekly, departing late evenings from Hong Kong and arriving early at East Midlands Airport. It is designed for time-sensitive shipments including e-commerce and electronics.

Cargo arriving in the UK is distributed via Swissport's road feeder network to major hubs such as London Heathrow, Manchester and Birmingham, ensuring rapid delivery across the country.

Between January 2020 and August 2025, One Air completed over 3,000 B747 charter flights from Hong Kong to 35 destinations, moving more than 300 million kilos of freight.

The company has opened a permanent office in Hong Kong, led by Director Far East Spencer AuYeung, to support its regional operations and reinforce its commitment to the market.

Chief Commercial Officer Peter Scholten said the launch of scheduled services adds a third pillar to One Air's portfolio, alongside wet lease and charter operations. He noted the inaugural flight departed with a full payload and praised customer support.
