    Amazon Air offers Dominican Republic service

    Amazon Air Cargo has expanded its Caribbean network with a new service to the Dominican Republic, offering seven weekly Boeing 767 freighter flights between Miami and Santo Domingo, reports Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.


    The Dominican Republic marks Amazon Air Cargo's first Caribbean market and its second in Latin America after Colombia. The service provides 770 metric tonnes of weekly cargo capacity, supporting couriers, freight forwarders and exporters.

    Amazon air cargo chief Tom Bradley said the initiative strengthens trade routes and creates new opportunities for local businesses. The service is operated in partnership with ALK Global Logistic.

    Alfonso Aleman, CEO of ALK Global Logistic, said the collaboration enhances connectivity and efficiency, bringing families, businesses and trade closer together across the Caribbean.

    In June, Amazon Air Cargo and Avianca Cargo expanded their Bogota��iami freighter service to twice-daily flights. Amazon Air currently operates 98 aircraft, including 10 Airbus A330 freighters, 29 Boeing 737 freighters and 59 Boeing 767 freighters.

    The Airbus A330 freighters are operated by Hawaiian Airlines, part of the Alaska Air Group. The tenth aircraft in the fleet is named ��esilience'. Amazon Air's network spans North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia
