American Airlines Cargo has enhanced its ExpediteTC cold-chain service with 24/7 live tracking for active temperature-controlled shipments, reports Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.
The upgrade enables continuous monitoring and proactive intervention during disruptions, ensuring sensitive pharmaceuticals and biologics remain in optimal condition throughout transit.
The airline is also providing enhanced training for new and existing staff to maintain high service standards and technical expertise.
On July 1, American Airlines Cargo launched online booking for ExpediteTC passive shipments cooled by dry ice or gel packs via aacargo.com, improving customer experience through self-service.
AA president Greg Schwendinger said the enhancements reflect the airline's commitment to precision and care in transporting life-saving products.
The flagship life sciences facility at Philadelphia International Airport spans 25,000 square feet and includes CEIV-certified temperature-controlled zones ranging from +15C to -20C, along with backup power and advanced monitoring systems.
The facility also supports over 30 RKNs in its Active Container Management area and features technology validated to an accuracy of 0.25C.
Additional CEIV-certified hubs include Miami, San Juan, Dallas Fort Worth and JFK, reinforcing the airline's global cold-chain capabilities.
American Airlines Cargo operates across 150 cities in 46 countries, with 30 CEIV- or GDP-certified stations supporting life sciences shipments.
Head of Customer Experience Eric Mathieu said ExpediteTC is built on collaboration and innovation, aiming to exceed industry standards and customer expectations.
