Air India has selected Revenue Technology Services to deploy AI-powered platforms for cargo revenue management and pricing, reported San Francisco's BusinessWire.

The airline will implement Velocity, RTS's next-generation cargo revenue management system, and AcceleRate, a dynamic pricing engine designed for fast-moving cargo markets.

Chief commercial officer Nipun Aggarwal said the partnership supports Air India's transformation into a data-driven, customer-focused cargo business.

Velocity uses machine learning to enhance demand forecasting, automate overbooking, and optimise revenue across routes and customer segments.

AcceleRate applies real-time market signals and predictive analytics to recommend pricing strategies, helping teams make faster and more consistent decisions.

RTS, based in Dallas, has over 15 years of experience in revenue optimisation for travel and cargo industries. Its platforms are used by major carriers worldwide.

RTS executives Mukundh Parthasarathy and Mahesh Vemula said the collaboration validates RTS's leadership and aligns with Air India's growth vision.

Implementation will begin immediately with a phased rollout to ensure smooth integration across Air India's systems and teams.

The Air India group, which includes Air India and Air India Express, is undergoing a five-year transformation under the Vihaan.AI programme.

Since returning to Tata Sons in 2022, Air India has ordered 470 aircraft, merged with Air Asia India and Vistara, and launched South Asia's largest aviation training academy.

A new flying school is set to open in 2025, and a greenfield maintenance base is under construction for 2026. All existing aircraft are being refitted.
