Chinese sportswear giant Anta Sports Products plans to open 1,000 stores in Southeast Asia over the next three years as part of its global expansion strategy, reports Caixin.

Anta Group Vice President Will Wang said retail sales in the region nearly doubled year on year in the first half of 2025. He made the remarks at the Asia New Vision Forum 2025 in Singapore.

Mr Wang, who also serves as chairman and president of Anta Southeast Asia, said true globalisation requires localised operations while maintaining brand identity. He emphasised the importance of delivering consistent quality and value to regional consumers.

Anta established its Southeast Asia division in 2023 and chose Singapore as its regional headquarters. The brand operated 224 stores outside China as of the end of June.
