Danish forwarding giant DSV's air freight volumes surged 64 per cent in the third quarter of 2025, boosted by its acquisition of Schenker, though underlying organic growth declined, reports London's Air Cargo News.

DSV handled 579,000 tonnes of air freight in Q3, with organic volume growth down 1.6 per cent year on year. Adjusted for low-yielding volume exits, organic growth was in line with market trends.

Air freight revenue rose 50 per cent to DKK21.1 billion (US$3.2 billion), while gross profit increased 7.8 per cent to DKK4.6 billion. DSV said the technology vertical drove growth, while the automotive sector continued to downtrade.

Average air freight rates softened slightly due to excess capacity and US tariff-related volatility. Imports into Europe helped stabilise market conditions.

Revenue for the air and sea division rose 36 per cent to DKK38.7 billion, though organic revenue fell 5.4 per cent due to lower sea freight volumes and rates. Divisional gross profit edged up 0.5 per cent to Dkr9.2 billion.

Group revenue reached DKK72 billion, up 63.1 per cent year on year, with gross profit climbing 76.1 per cent to DKK19.4 billion. Organic gross profit rose 5.4 per cent in constant currencies.

Chief executive Jens Lund said the Schenker integration is progressing well and strengthening DSV's global network. He noted that despite market softness, the company's commercial strategy is driving activity among major clients.
