TAM Group is expanding operations and digital capabilities in Southeast Asia to meet rising US air cargo imports from Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia, reports Mumbai's STAT Trade Times.

In an interview, TAM vice president Anindam Choudhury discussed how the company is aligning capacity and services to serve emerging exporters.

"With Southeast Asia surpassing China in US air cargo imports, TAM Group is scaling up its presence by opening new offices and strengthening ties with local carriers," he said. The company is tailoring services for SMEs and new exporters, offering flexible booking, simplified documentation and dedicated support.

Mr Choudhury also said TAM is enhancing its cargo space management and routing strategies to help emerging exporters navigate complex logistics and access global markets. The company's regional expertise supports smoother customs and regulatory processes.

"Amid Red Sea disruptions and geopolitical instability, TAM is diversifying trade lanes and boosting multimodal connectivity. Partnerships with Saudia Cargo and China Cargo Airlines enable continued freighter and pharma logistics services.

"The company has deployed AI-driven forecasting and predictive analytics to anticipate bottlenecks and dynamically adjust routing. Its 24/7 customer service ensures operational continuity and responsiveness during e-commerce surges," he said.

With demand expected to outpace supply by 6 to 10 per cent in 2025, TAM is investing in CRM systems, e-AWB adoption and AI-powered pricing tools. It is also expanding regional hubs and cargo lanes across Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand.

TAM's "carrier-first philosophy" underpins its bespoke solutions for both legacy and emerging carriers. Its joint venture with Saudia Cargo Global exemplifies its commitment to scalable, flexible logistics models.

The company maintains resilience by engaging with regulators, monitoring market shifts and offering multimodal alternatives. With 40 offices in 26 cities, TAM combines local agility with global reach, reinforcing its long-term commitment to customer-centric service, said Mr Choudhury.
