China Southern Cargo has launched a new freighter service linking Shanghai Pudong, Harbin and Felipe Angeles International Airport in Mexico, expanding its global network into Latin America, reported London's Air Cargo News.

The new route, operated with a Boeing 777 freighter, began this month and reflects the airline's strategy of strengthening logistics connectivity between China's major economic centres and overseas markets. Planespotters data shows China Southern Cargo has twelve 777Fs in its fleet.

The carrier received its air operator certificate in 2021 after being spun off from parent company China Southern. It maintains dual cargo hubs at Guangzhou Baiyun and Shanghai Pudong.

In November 2025, China Southern Cargo launched a service from Shanghai to Santiago, Chile, via Los Angeles. That route, with weekly capacity of nearly 500 tonnes, is currently the longest freighter service from the Chinese mainland.

The airline began operations in February 2022 with a Guangzhou-London Stansted service and has since built a global freighter network covering Asia, Europe and North America.
