Senate Democrats: USMCA ratification hinges on deal's social teeth

CONCERNED US Senate Democrats want labour reform laws in place or in prospect in Mexico before they ratify the new US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), reports American Shipper.
"I think the disposition of this bill's going to come down to whether enforcement provisions have teeth that are going to help workers," said Senate Finance Committee ranking member, Oregon's Senator Ron Wyden.
Said Ohio's Democrat Senator Sherrod Brown: "Mexico has to pass that law before the USMCA implementing language bill passes."
