Ballast Water Management Conference in Rotterdam on November 7-8

ACI's 21st Ballast Water Management Conference will be held on November 7-8 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands to provide expert guidance to shipowners/operators on how to handle BWT systems in terms of selection, installation and technical operations, as well as advice on compliance and regulations once the new convention is introduced.
The conference will also address type approval and system excellence for BWT system manufacturers.
BWM team lead Sahan Abeysekara of the Lloyd's Register EMEA will be speaking on "Installation and Commissioning of BWMS".
Topics under discussion include ballast water market forecast; IMO updates and crucial developments at the MEPC; retrofitting of vessels and solutions for shipowners; port state control inspections; shipowner case studies; port's perspective: How Port Authorities are tackling the Introduction of the BWMC; and US guidelines: USCG Criteria and Gaining System Approval.
Also on the agenda will be the testing of ballast water systems; meeting training requirements and guaranteeing crew competence; maintenance strategies for ballast water systems; and the future of the ballast water industry.
