Singapore Airlines, Scoot Extend Middle East Flight Suspensions Into December 2026

Singapore Airlines, the national carrier operating from Singapore Changi Airport and a mainstay of global aviation with a route network spanning more than 70 destinations, has extended the suspension of key Middle East services, along with its low-cost subsidiary, Scoot. The decision pushes previously announced cancellations deeper into the year, reflecting the carrier group's continued caution amid regional instability.

Singapore Airlines will cancel its Singapore Changi-Dubai International route until December 1, 2026, while Scoot will suspend its Singapore Changi-Jeddah International flights until December 2, 2026. The airline attributed the extension to the ongoing geopolitical situation in the Middle East and warned that further services across the region could be affected as conditions evolve.

The move reinforces a pattern of schedule adjustments the group has made over recent months as tensions across the region persist. Earlier suspensions affecting Middle East routes were rolled forward multiple times, and the latest extension signals that the carrier expects conditions to remain uncertain through the fourth quarter. Singapore Airlines has said it continues to monitor developments closely and will adjust operations as needed.

For affected travelers, the extended suspensions carry practical consequences. Passengers holding bookings on the Dubai and Jeddah routes will need to seek rebooking, rerouting, or refunds, and connecting itineraries that rely on these services may require alternative arrangements. The two cities remain major hubs for business, leisure, and pilgrimage travel, and the prolonged disruption is likely to shift demand to alternative carriers and connecting routes through other regional gateways.

Singapore Airlines has emphasized that passenger and crew safety remains the priority guiding its decisions. By extending the suspensions rather than resuming partial operations, the group is choosing a measured, risk-managed approach — one that positions it to restore services swiftly once regional conditions stabilize while maintaining the reliability and confidence that underpin its reputation across global markets.
