Maersk Container Industry produces 8,600 reefer boxes for Hapag-Lloyd

MAERSK Container Industry is manufacturing 8,600 of the 11,100 refrigerated containers that Hapag-Lloyd ordered in August. MCI will produce within this total, 2,000 controlled-atmosphere reefers.
MCI said it has commenced production of the reefer containers at its factory in Qingdao, China. Earlier this year, MCI shut down its factory in Chile, reported American Shipper.
The other 2,500 reefers that make up Hapag-Lloyd's August order are being manufactured by China International Marine Containers (CIMC) at its factory in Shanghai.
