20,119-TEU Cosco Shipping Sagittarius named - 9th of 9-ship series

A NAMING ceremony for the 20,119-TEU Cosco Shipping Sagittarius, the ninth 20,000-TEUer in the company's constellation series, was held at the shipyard of Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co.
Company vice president Yu Zenggang, China State Shipbuilding vice president Nan Daqing and leaders and guests from Cosco, the shipyard, China Shipbuilding Trading, DNV-GL and China Classification Society attended the ceremony.
Chung Shui Ming, an external director of Cosco Shipping, was also invited to the event and his wife, Chui Ki Wen, named the new vessel.
The last of the three sister ships built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao will soon serve on the Far East-Northwest Europe loop (AEU3).
With an LOA of 399.8 metres, moulded beam of 58.6 metres and maximum draft of 16 metres, it was classed by both DNV-GL and CCS. It has a maximum load of 20,119 TEU and is fitted with 1,000 reefer plugs.
